Song Lesson using Major & Minor Chords

At the end of this lesson, you should be able to play a song using a mix of both Major and Minor Chords.

In the key of C Major, the Major chords are 1,4 and 5 of the C Major Scale.

C Major triad (CEG) = 1 chord or simply I

F Major Triad (FAC) = 4 chord or simply IV

G Major triad (GBD) = 5 Chord or simply V

In the key of C Major, the minor chords are 2,3 and 6 of the C Major Scale.

D minor triad (DFA) = 2 chord or simply II

E minor Triad (EGB) = 3 chord or simply III

A minor triad (ACE) = 6 Chord or simply VI

Before you proceed, please ensure you set your metronome as we always do (See Metronome Lesson)

They Play Chords under each word as directed.

That’s amazing right? Just the adding of the 6 and 2 chords to the Chord Progression it sounds more interesting; that’s the power of minor chords.
